A Lullaby for the Listless
Today’s writing was inspired by two of my favorite songs, Durand Bernarrs’s “Sam’s Vibe” and Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky”. Both songs have similar themes of exploring that overwhelming feeling of ennui that can often creep up from nowhere.
No matter what you do, it feels as though you can’t quite identify what’s causing your emotions, but suddenly, they’re just there, and you have to navigate the waves of incomprehensible feelings.
While I hope you can’t personally relate to this, I do hope you enjoy the poem!
“Lullaby for the Listless” by FJDay
Make it stop
Fill the void
Eat some bread
Buy a toy
Kiss the sheets
Hug a tree
Stomp your feet
Dance with me
Paint the stars
Jump through rain
Flood the heart
Let go pain
Miss the mad
Treat the wound
Lift the sad?
Still too soon
