This evening, at approximately 2:27 PM PST (5:27 PM EST), we will experience the Cancer Full Moon. As someone with the Moon in Cancer and the Sun in Capricorn, I find every moon cycle significant. However, this particular cycle holds extra importance because the Moon is at home in Cancer, enhancing its power. Being a water sign, Cancer embodies a natural flow, and the Full Moon during this time is an incredibly potent moment for ritual work.

While many people perceive the Cancer Moon as a time for bonding and relaxation, it is also the ideal opportunity for engaging in cord-cutting rituals. For those who don’t know, a cord-cutting ritual is a spiritual practice designed to release emotional, energetic, or karmic ties that no longer serve your highest good.

Cord-cutting can involve physically cutting a cord, paper, or any object that symbolizes severing your ties with the past. Those who enjoy candle work can also tie candles together before using fire to remove the tie.

By rooting this practice in the nurturing and intuitive energy of Cancer, a cord-cutting ritual for the full moon can focus on freeing yourself from attachments to past relationships, family dynamics, childhood wounds, or limiting beliefs that hinder your emotional well-being and personal growth.

By tapping into the full moon’s illumination, you bring awareness to these connections, honor the lessons they provided, and consciously sever the energetic cords, creating space for healing, renewal, and a deeper alignment with your intuition, emotional truth, and self-nurturance.
