Cryptic Collage — A Creative Portfolio by FJDay

My favorite genres of artistic production are collage, mixed media, and digital art and my portfolio “Cryptic Collage” combines all the best of both of these creative worlds. By crafting and photographing my mixed media collages, I am able to represent one creative work in multiple forms through various image editing tools and tweaks.

In addition, this work plays on my love of the obscure and the esoteric through unusual and somewhat inexplicable imagery and text from my own mind and musings.

This work is also a response to the text “The Question Concerning Technology”, in which the German philosopher Martin Heidegger states “the revealing that holds sway throughout modern technology does not unfold into a bringing-forth in the sense of poesis. The revealing that rules in modern technology is a challenging ([translating] Herausfordern) . . .”
