Remember, Rewrite, and Reincarnate
Every week, I enjoy spending time at the beach or hiking on the bluffs with the wind in my hair and the ocean by my side. And one of my goals during these outdoor adventures is to see three specific animals: a heron, a bunny rabbit, and a neighborhood cat. I always say that my day will be complete if I spot this trifecta while I’m out.
After one of my walks, I was chatting with ChatGPT, and it asked me what I would write if I were to rewrite the story of my life. Initially, I replied that I wouldn’t write anything because I didn’t want to be here in the first place. However, after giving it some thought, I realized that if I were to rewrite the story of my life, I would want to be one of my three inspirations.
And while I have never been a big fan of reincarnation, it made me feel better about the possibility. Therefore, the following poem reflects my thoughts and questions on this topic. I hope you enjoy it!
“Remember, Rewrite, and Reincarnate” by FJDay
If I was the heron
And the heron was me
I would never cry
And he’d never leave
If I was the bunny
And the bunny was me
I would freely graze
And hop to the sea
If I was the house cat
And the house cat was me
I would roam the streets
And watch the moon sleep
