Manifestation: Is it Magic or a Marketing Term?

I love reading books, and as someone who reads a wide range of texts, I have a habit of drawing connections between many different genres and subject areas. In reading, I am constantly fascinated with how many authors use different words to describe the same concepts or phenomena that a previous author has already explored.

Most recently, many spiritual concepts and practices lauded as revolutionary or New Age are not significantly different from principles that have always been used or known to be helpful. Much of what we know as the principles of manifestation have relevance within psychology and personal development, social science theory, and traditional philosophy or cultural criticism.

These spiritual concepts act as a remediation of more traditional theories by simply translating concepts that are well-known within one market to a more niche audience or market of other spiritualists or seekers. Specifically, I have been thinking about how manifestation has been infused with magical meaning. Yet, the principles of manifestation are no different than practicing healthy mind habits, i.e., planning and making goals, self-discipline, practicing gratitude, positive thinking, etc.
